About Wes:
Wes Dening has established himself as one of the most promising talents in television. He is a charismatic presenter with strong writing and producing skills behind him. Host of truTV’s The Smoking Gun Presents: World’s Dumbest along with Network Ten’s award winning national program Totally Wild since 2004, Wes has quickly established himself as a favourite amongst television audiences.
Wes’s on-air experience is vast and impressive. He has been host of Kick2Kick (a national kids AFL show), sports newsreader on Network Ten’s First at Five News and a co-host for the 2008 Sydney Live New Years Eve telecast.
Wes has also co-produced and presented a six-part series filmed in Antarctica. This series was well recognised as one of the finalist for the 2007 Enhance TV ATOM Awards for Best Children’s Television Series and was also nominated for a Logie Award for Most Outstanding Children’s show in 2008. He has also hosted two documentaries and reported live from the boundary line for the AFL and reported for Australian Women’s PGA.
In 2009 Wes created, represented, developed and produced “The Stafford Brothers” with Matt and Chris Stafford, two of the world’s most popular DJ’s. Shot in Australia, the first episode of this creative reality series received rave reviews and looks to be heading into series early in 2010.
With a degree in Business Management (majored in marketing) Wes has always had a passion for television production. With a burning desire to develop and create original content, Wes aims to work and present on international productions that redefine the boundaries of contemporary television and entertainment.
Growing up in Australia, Wes dedicated much of his time to swimming, rugby and acting. After spending a year in London teaching English children to swim he returned to Australia to work in a law firm, study and later take on the role of marketing coordinator for a Queensland charity.
Wes is based in NYC and is currently performing on “The Smoking Gun Presents: World’s Dumbest” for US Network TruTV. He was also the host of the StarQuest International Performing Arts Competition, a national live dance event held across the USA. The role spun Wes to different US states each week, performing in-front of American audiences with the same warmth and charm he is renowned for at home.
Loving nothing more than the gut-stirring feeling that comes with a great idea, Wes Dening is an ambitious individual who loves challenges and dares to dream big.
